The gold standard for postpartum care should be continued support after the baby arrives. No one should be left alone searching the internet in the middle of the night for breastfeeding answers.
You should have a lactation consultant who you know and trust. Already have plans for weekly visits. And have a way to contact her with all your questions in between visits.
Most parents feel best when they see their lactation consultant a few times rather than just once.
We want you to be calm, confident, and secure in how breastfeeding is working and we know these packages work.
Whether we meet 6, 8, or 12 times, we are sure to build a good relationship, you’ll get your questions answered, and we can do it without the stress of a rushed office visit with no follow up plan.

Get breastfeeding off to a great start with calm unhurried consults. Once weekly in-home consults for 6 weeks. And continued support via our messaging system throughout that time.

Breastfeeding doesn’t have to be lonely, confusing or rushed. Once weekly in-home consults for 8 weeks. And continued support via our messaging system throughout that time.

Single consults are $200 for initial appointment and $150 for each follow up.
Packages are $200 for initial consult and $120 for each follow up.
Outside of Cuyahoga, Medina and Summit counties a $25 travel fee will be charged for each visit.

Dana P. What happens in a consult?
During your appointment we will:
review health history
discuss birth and postpartum history for both the breastfeeding parent and child
complete a breast exam
complete an oral assessment on your baby
observe and assess feeding at the breast and/or by bottle, depending on your situation
measure nipples for flange size
observe and assess a pumping session if applicable
discuss and create a plan for the next few days
We will provide a written report to your healthcare provider(s).
We will provide a superbill which you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Single consults are $200 for initial appointment and $150 for each follow up.
Outside of Cuyahoga, Medina and Summit counties a $25 travel fee will be charged for each visit.
Follow up consults are for continued support and ongoing issues with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and pumping.
Payment and Insurance
All consults include one (1) week of follow-up email support at no additional cost.
Payment is expected in full prior to the consult. Payment will be submitted through Square or by personal check. Payment with Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are accepted through Square.
Summit Lactation is not an in-network provider with any insurance companies at this time, however a superbill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company. Information on appealing insurance claims with your superbill can be found through The National Women’s Law Center in their Breastfeeding Toolkit which you can download and follow step-by-step. We are providing virtual consults at this time but when we are able to do home visits, we’ll be serving Cuyahoga, Medina and Summit Counties; the Greater Akron area, Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Tallmadge, Hudson, Twinsburg, Macedonia, Sagamore Hills, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Independence, Seven Hills, Parma, North Royalton, Brunswick, Medina, Strongsville, Field, Hinkley, Richfield, Bath, Copley, Fairlawn, Wadsworth, Seville.
